Finding a Student Job

There are three routes that you can take to begin your search for student employment at Ohio State.

Search for employment through Handshake:

  1. Go to handshake.osu.edu

  2. Login using your lastname.#@osu.edu (do NOT use your buckeyemail email)

  3. Once you are logged into Handshake, go to "Jobs" section

  4. Select the “On-Campus” search filter to find and apply for jobs at Ohio State

Access the job board posted by the Student Financial Aid office

  • This website has postings for both federal work-study and other student jobs
  • If you are not eligible for federal work-study, then you will not be able to view those work-study positions when you log in
  • Your federal work-study eligibility should be indicated on your student financial aid package
  • If you have questions about federal work-study eligibility, please contact Student Financial Aid

Search for jobs by department

  • Check specific departments' websites to see if they have any job postings
  • You can also stop into the department offices and ask what positions may be available

Before you start your job hunt, make sure your resume is ready!

  • The office of Career Counseling and Support Services (CCSS) offers resume writing advice as well as other career services
  • Find out which career services office is associated with your department to get discipline-specific guidance
