Supervisor Workshops and Monthly Meetings

The SEE program supports supervisors of student employees to ensure they have the resources they need to create a supportive and inclusive working environment. All of the following workshops are offered virtually, unless otherwise designated.

Required Workshops

The following workshops are required for all SEE supervisors:

  • SEE Onboarding Presentation: This session offers an introduction to the Student Employment Experience (SEE) program and provides resources and next steps for supervisors of student employees to fully engage in SEE.
  • SEE Learning Assessment (SEELA) Workshop: This workshop is designed to help SEE supervisors understand the Student Employment Experience Learning Assessment (SEELA) and how to interpret the assessment results. SEE supervisors can then use this information to better support their student employees and inform their Guided Reflection on Work (GROW) conversations.
  • Supervising Student Employees: This workshop covers foundational principles of supervision through the lens of college student employment. Through learning evidence-based practices, and sharing challenges and strategies with others, participants will walk away with practical solutions for supervising students in their own context. Learn to set reasonable yet challenging expectations and offer effective feedback.

Optional Workshops

The following workshops are also offered, but not required. They can be attended by either the SEE supervisor themselves, or another representative in their office/department:

  • Additional offerings will be added during the fall semester!

While SEE supervisors only need to attend these trainings once, they are welcome to attend workshops repeatedly if they would like to revisit the information. For questions, additional support or consultation, please email see@osu.edu.

If you require an accommodation such as live captioning or interpretation to participate in any of these events, please contact the SEE Team at see@osu.edu. Requests made at least one week in advance will generally allow us to provide seamless access, but the university will make every effort to meet requests made after this date.
