Supervisor Development Workshops
Supervising Student Employees Workshop
Each semester, we partner with the Office of Human Resources to offer sessions of "Supervising Student Employees." This is a two-hour training that focuses on three fundamental practices of supervision: setting expectations, coaching employees and delivering effective feedback. For each practice, we also offer an educational practice rooted in research on college student learning and development. The workshop is ideal for new supervisors of students, or those who want to enhance the educational benefit of their student employment positions.
To sign up for an upcoming session, login to buckeyelearn.osu.edu and search for "Supervising Student Employees."
Supervisor Breakfast Clubs
For supervisors in the SEE program, we offer two Breakfast Clubs each semester where supervisors gather to discuss a particular learning outcome or transferable skill we are hoping to teach student employees. During these times we share common challenges, best practices and a meal. The Breakfast Clubs provide an opportunity to align supervisors on particular learning outcomes, and an opportunity for supervisors to network with colleagues across the university.
SEE Supervisors can sign up for a Breakfast Club through BuckeyeLearn as well. Further instructions are in BuckeyeBox.
