The world is facing some really BIG challenges, which means it’s more important than ever to be prepared to have some BIG conversations.
Please consider joining Dr. Aaron Yarmel and Dr. Melissa Shivers for a follow-up discussion from the Columbus Foundation’s BIG Table, where we will talk about how we can build a strong community through dialogue. Featuring concepts from the university’s Listen. Learn. Pursuing professional development is an important skill for any employee, and there are some great resources on campus for student employees to do just that.
- Workshops relating to belonging, inclusion, and cultivating community are often offered by the Center for Belonging and Social Change and the Kirwan Institute.
- Other in-person professional development opportunities for students include workshops provided through Buckeye Careers and the Student Wellness Center.
- Looking to develop your skills outside of the classroom? Thanks to the Office of Human Resources, the Ohio State Wexner Medical Center and the University Staff Advisory Committee students have access to LinkedIn Learning, with a digital library of more than 18,000 courses covering a wide range of technical, business, software and creative topics.
